I do not know anymore about Grandma's step kids than Mom told me she kept in touch...After Charles died the kids went with his family......Apparently they got all the money...Grandma went to live for a short time with her father....That did not work..I imagine he helped Grandma get her boarding house.....

He died on the farm and Grandma had to take his body to town in an oxen cart...All his money went to his children with Grace Dodge...I have a slip of paper with some births and deaths written on it. Grandma with the 3 girls tried to live with Chrisitan but it did not work...Somehow she had enough money to start a boarding house....Grandpa was a boarder...Ummmm. The rest is history....
