REDDING, CALIF - Katherine Verena Fitz-Gibbon, 91, Redding, Calif., died Thursday, Feb. 16, 1995.

She was born Nov. 30, 1903, in Brodhead, Wisconsin, the daughter of Verena (Isely) and Carl Marty Sr.

She graduated from high school in Chicago and in 1925 graduated from the University of lllinois.

She married Paul Fitz-Gibbon in 1931. She taught school in Illinois, Ohio and California.

Surviving are five children; Paul, Newport Beach, Calif., Bill, Brentwood. Calif., Carol Showalter, Wisconsin Dells, Susan Winton, Elmhurst, Ill. and Jane McKenna, Redding, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three half sisters, Grace Frazer, Bess Germann and Edna Leiser; and three brothers, Carl, Walter and Robert Marty.

Graveside, services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Calvary Cemetery, the Rev. Steven Umhoeferof St. Victor Catholic Church officiating.
